Giovanni van Bronckhorst has rejected the chance to become assistant manager of the Dutch national team.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona left-back has turned down the chance to become Louis van Gaal's number two in order to stay with Feyenoord.
Since retiring as a player Van Bronckorst has taken up a coaching role with Feyenoord, becoming a key member of Ronald Koeman's staff.
"I was honoured with the request, but that role does not currently fit in with my work," Van Bronckhorst told AD.nl.
"It is true that I have the ambition to work as an assistant to the national team in the future."
Van Bronckhorst, capped 106 times by Holland, is set for a new role in charge of Feyenoord's youth team.
