Dutch boss Bert van Marwijk has said that Robin van Persie was withdrawn during Holland's 3-2 win over England due to a groin issue.
Van Persie, who was unable to impact the game, was substituted at the interval. However, Van Marwijk insists that his decision to withdraw the striker at the break was made prior to the game and that his condition is not serious.
"I didn't speak to Arsene Wenger," he told reporters. "[Van Persie] had a little bit of problems with his groin.
"I spoke to him before the game to say don't take any risks. I said, 'you're playing one half'."
Meanwhile, Van Marwijk revealed that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar suffered a broken nose and concussion when he clashed heads with Chris Smalling.
