David Villa has reportedly expressed an interest in joining a Premier League side on loan at the end of the current MLS season.
The New York City FC striker, who joined the team for their debut season, would be able to play for another side short term from January.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Spaniard, who was on loan with Melbourne City ahead of the start of the MLS season, will weigh up his options at the end of the season, but is open to a spell in England.
New York City midfielder Frank Lampard spent the entire season on loan with Manchester City, while Thierry Henry, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan have all had brief January spells on loan in the Premier League in the past.
