Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson reveals that recovery from his calf injury is moving slowly.
Sports Mole

Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has provided an update on his recovery from injury.

The 29-year-old suffered a calf problem during the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the end of December, as he had to be substituted due to the issue within that game.

Since then the forward has been busy recovering, but Eddie Howe recently admitted that Wilson might not be available until the final few games of the season.

"Another week of rehab for me, really. Working hard. Just trying to get fit. You know how it is when you are in that kind of rehab phase," he told the Footballer's Football podcast.

"You are always just building up your body back to normal again and getting used to doing movements in terms of football-specific movements and stuff like that. I am still indoors at the minute, so it is moving a little bit slow."

Wilson has made 15 appearances in the Premier League this season, finding the back of the net six times. body check tags ::
