Newcastle United winger Gabriel Obertan has reportedly been ruled out for four months after having surgery on a thigh injury.
The 25-year-old has played a key role in Newcastle's recent resurgence, but Alan Pardew was dealt a blow when the Frenchamn was forced off in the second half of the 1-0 victory over Liverpool last weekend.
Obertan was forced to have surgery on a ruptured thigh muscle, and the club's medical staff are not expecting him to be fit until March, according to The Mirror.
The injury is likely to see more chances handed to Sammy Ameobi and Rolando Aarons, who have both impressed for the Magpies in recent weeks.
Newcastle are currently 12th in the Premier League.
