Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita has admitted he was pleased with how his side reacted in their 0-0 draw with West Ham United following their heavy defeat at Manchester City.
The Magpies secured their first point of the season against the Hammers at St James' Park after being hammered 4-0 by Manuel Pellegrini's side on the opening day of the campaign.
Anita told the club's official website: "We played different football, we played much better with much more confidence and we created some chances. Unfortunately we drew but we did it well and we reacted well to the Manchester City game.
"We know what we can do, what we are capable of, and this was our first home game. There are lots of positives to take from this. We must keep playing good football with confidence and if we do that then the goals will come."
Newcastle were without midfielder Yohan Cabaye for the visit of the Hammers, and reports suggest that Arsenal are set to return with another bid for the France international.
