Yohan Cabaye has insisted that he has "no regrets" regarding his decision to join Newcastle United last summer.
The French international swapped Champions League football with Lille for a move to Tyneside.
However, Cabaye now believes that his decision has been vindicated by the successful season that the Magpies have had so far.
"[The Premier League] is best league in the world for me. There are no easy games and the tempo is very high. I'm progressing and I've no regrets," he told reporters.
"We've had a great season. Now people are saying Newcastle was the right choice because we're fourth or fifth in the table and we're going to play in Europe. People weren't saying that when I left. I knew it was the right choice because I was going to play.
"There are still five games to go and we need to go out and get what we want. Why not a Champions League place?"
The 26-year-old has scored two league goals for Newcastle.
