Newcastle United manager John Carver has revealed that his side will try to take advantage of Swansea City's injury woes in their Premier League clash at St James' Park.
The Swans are without several key players such as striker Bafetimbi Gomis and defender Kyle Naughton for the match, while left-back Neil Taylor will also miss the game through suspension.
Carver has insisted that his team have to take the initiative to end their six-game losing streak in the top flight to abate any fears of relegation.
"When you look at the last six games we've had they've been very difficult fixtures," Carver told the club's official website.
"But, if you look at Swansea's situation they've got one of two injuries now and they've had to reshuffle the team so we'll take that as our advantage.
"They're a side that will try and keep the ball and so we'll have to be patient at times, but I've got to come up with a winning formula and get the three points."
Newcastle are seven points clear of the relegation zone ahead of their clash against Garry Monk's men.
