Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has revealed that he is enjoying the added responsibility up front following Demba Ba's departure from the club.
The 27-year-old's fellow Senegal international left the Magpies in January in an £8m move to Chelsea.
"Mentally I am definitely in a different position to where I was," Cisse told the Daily Star. "There is more responsibility on my shoulders and I relish it.
"Between Shola Ameobi and myself, we have to fill Demba's boots, but the new players have come in and helped us a lot. I think the team is in a really strong position right now."
Cisse has scored eight goals in all competitions for Newcastle this season.
