Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse insists that he is happy with his side's 1-1 draw away to Burnley in the Premier League.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has insisted that he is satisfied by the team's 1-1 draw at Burnley.

The Magpies salvaged a point at Turf Moor last night as Cisse found the net early in the second half to cancel out George Boyd's opener.

Cisse believes that it was a change of tactics after the break that helped Newcastle avoid defeat for a second consecutive game, praising manager Alan Pardew for adopting a different approach.

"It was a good point from a hard game," he told the club's official website. "Of course, our objective was to win the game but the way things went, to come away with one point was good.

"The first half and second half were very different. We just kept kicking the ball long in the first half and made things very difficult for ourselves. But the gaffer changed things at half time and that helped us get back in the game.

"At half time the manager said that we had to keep the ball and play - play all the time, at every chance. We knew we would get back in the game by playing football rather than kicking it long, and when we did that we scored straightaway."

Newcastle are back in action on Saturday when they host leaders Chelsea in the league.
