Newcastle United forward Yoan Gouffran has revealed that his striking instincts have helped him rack up the goals this season.
The Frenchman has usually been deployed on the left wing this season by Alan Pardew but that didn't stop him notching his fifth goal of the campaign in his side's 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
"Even though I'm playing on the left of midfield, I'm keeping my instincts of a striker," Gouffran told the club's official website.
"Every time I can get forward and try to score, I can, and that's what the manager is asking me to do.
"It was good to score again. Every time I score I'm happy, so today it is no different. I'm so happy to be able to help the team win."
Newcastle are sixth in the Premier League after 13 games this season.
