Newcastle United midfielder Jonas Gutierrez is desperate to help his side kick on from their win over Aston Villa after he returned to the squad for the first time since recovering from testicular cancer.
The 31-year-old was an unused substitute at St James' Park and watched from the bench as Papiss Cisse scored the only goal of the game to guide the Magpies past Tim Sherwood's men.
"It was a very important three points," Gutierrez told the club's official website.
"It wasn't the best game for us, but sometimes you don't care about the way you play, just as long as you win - especially after what happened last weekend at Manchester City.
"Now we have a few games which are going to be tough, but if we want to finish in the top ten we had to win this one against Villa and have look to take points from those games. We are all looking forward to it."
Newcastle are 11th in the Premier League table, with 35 points from their 27 matches.
