Daryl Janmaat has admitted that Newcastle United could struggle in the absence of striker Papiss Cisse over the coming months.
The Senegalese will miss the Magpies' next seven games due to his hefty ban for spitting at Manchester United's Jonny Evans.
Cisse currently boasts the best goals-per-minute strike rate in the Premier League, and Janmaat acknowledges that his teammate's spell on the sidelines will be keenly felt.
"It helps with that when you have Papiss in the team because he is a really good goalscorer," he told The Shields Gazette. "You know that if you set him up with a chance, more times than not he will take it.
"He's an excellent finisher, although sometimes I think he probably wants to shoot me because I cut inside and he does not like it. He wants every ball into the middle."
Newcastle, who are currently 11th in the Premier League table, return to action on Sunday when they take on Everton.
