Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has hailed summer signings Jack Colback and Remy Cabella for their "outstanding" debuts on Sunday.
Goals in either half from David Silva and Sergio Aguero helped Manchester City to a 2-0 victory over the Magpies in their Premier League opener at St James's Park.
Nevertheless, Pardew drew positives from Colback and Cabella's displays, and claims that the latter will "punish" plenty of teams this season.
"I thought Jack and Remy were outstanding," he told reporters. "You know Remy is going to try something and have a moment. When Remy has a hot day, he is going to punish teams.
"I was really pleased with him. I thought he might struggle physically but he coped quite well."
Newcastle travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa next weekend.
