Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has praised his players for their pre-season win at Blackpool.
An understrength Magpies earned a 1-0 victory at Bloomfield Road on Sunday, thanks to Shola Ameobi's goal.
"It was a good workout for us. It was a good win," Pardew told Sky Sports News.
"In reflection, it was good preparation. We didn't have our strongest side, therefore I'm very pleased to get the win."
Newcastle return to action on Tuesday with a trip north of the border to St Mirren.
