Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that he is well aware that a large number of the club's supporters are "unhappy" with him.
Disgruntled fans have called for the 52-year-old to be sacked after witnessing the Magpies suffer six defeats in a row.
Despite the supporters' current mood, Pardew has called on everyone to get behind the team at St James' Park against relegation fighters Cardiff City on Saturday.
"I know the fans are unhappy and disappointed, particularly with myself, but we need the stadium in the best possible shape we can have it," Pardew told the Shields Gazette. "The players need a lift."
Newcastle are currently ninth in the Premier League table on 46 points with two games left to play.
