Remy Cabella has no intention of leaving Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to his father.
The attacking midfielder joined Newcastle from Montpellier on a six-year deal last July, but he struggled to produce his best form in the Premier League as the Magpies narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.
Despite reports in France suggesting that Marseille are interested in signing the 25-year-old, Hector Cabella claims that his son will be at St James' Park for the start of the new campaign.
"My son is fine in Newcastle," Cabella's father is quoted as saying by the Newcastle Chronicle. "He will resume with his club on July 1.
"We have no discussions with [Marseille] or anyone. He signed six years, not to leave after one season."
Cabella scored just once in 31 league appearances during his first season in England.
