Fabricio Coloccini has played down reports that he wants to leave Newcastle United during the upcoming transfer window.
The club's captain asked for permission to leave Tyneside a year ago in order to return to Argentina, leading to fresh speculation that he could leave St James's Park in January.
The 31-year-old told the Shields Gazette: "The press sometimes say things I said months ago, not now.
"I respect the fans. When I go on to the pitch, I always give 100% for this shirt because they give me lots of love, and I have to say thank you."
The Magpies face Manchester United at Old Trafford tomorrow.
