West Bromwich Albion striker Dwight Gayle has suggested that he is interested in staying on at The Hawthorns beyond the end of the season.
The 28-year-old joined the Baggies on loan from Newcastle United in August as part of a deal that saw Salomon Rondon head the opposite way.
Gayle has struck regularly for Albion since arriving, scoring nine times in 14 Championship appearances - a tally bettered only by Billy Sharp and Neal Maupay in the second tier.
Amid talk that Gayle and Rondon could trade places permanently come the end of the season, the former Crystal Palace ace admits that he is enjoying life in the West Midlands.
"Yeah of course it's crossed my mind," he told Birmingham Live. "It's something that will be on the cards, but I suppose I've just got to get this season out of the way and let others get on with what they've got to do.
"We'll see how things go. I'm very happy playing my football here and I'm thoroughly enjoying it."
Gayle scored 23 goals for Newcastle during the 2016-17 season, playing a large part in the Magpies' promotion from the Championship, but netted just six times in the top flight last term.
