Newcastle United midfielder Danny Guthrie has revealed that he will sit down with the Magpies at the end of the season to discuss a contract extension at the Sports Direct Arena.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew claimed in the January transfer window that he would approach the 24-year-old over a new deal.
Despite the former West Ham United manager's claims, Guthrie has confirmed that talks will have to wait until the close of the club's Premier League campaign.
"I'm just scheduled for talks," Guthrie told the Newcastle Chronicle. "Come the end of the season, my agent will be in touch with the club, or vice-versa. We're just waiting to see what happens."
Reports have speculated that Midlands outfit Aston Villa are interested in signing the midfielder.
