Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles has signed a new six-year contract at St James' Park.
In recent weeks, Lascelles has made a significant contribution for the Magpies in the Premier League, scoring winning goals against Swansea City and Stoke City respectively.
However, the club captain has also been excellent at the back, and the former England Under-21 international has acknowledged that he is delighted to have committed his future to the North-East outfit.
The 23-year-old told the club's official website: "I'm over the moon. Since I came to Newcastle, I've been happy; I love the city, the football and the fans. Everything about it, I enjoy so I'm happy to be tied down for the next six years here.
"We've got a group of ambitious lads, the fans are excellent and the manager has got trust in me, so I'm really happy here and I want to take the club as high as it can go."
Lascelles has made 75 appearances for Newcastle since signing from Nottingham Forest in 2014.
