Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren has dismissed reports linking captain Fabricio Coloccini with a move away from the club.
The 33-year-old has been touted with a switch to join up with former manager Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace.
However, McClaren has insisted that the Magpies have not received an offer for the Argentine, and is adamant that the defender still has a vital role at the club.
"We've had no official approach," McClaren told Sky Sports News. "Colo's been working with us on and off nursing his Achilles and getting through some work.
"He's been a first-class professional. I came through the door and he's the captain. Like everyone else, we want to see him on the field and playing for this team."
Coloccini has made 247 appearances for Newcastle in his seven years at the club.
