Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren is reportedly set to block any loan bids for defender Mike Williamson and forward Yoan Gouffran.
The two players are yet to feature in the Premier League this season, and a number of Championship clubs are reportedly considering short-term moves for the pair.
Asked if the club was looking to loan the players out by the Shields Gazette, McClaren responded: "No, we're not. I think our squad is okay. You know, if you get injuries and things [they will be needed].
"I also think we've got cup competitions. We used the cup last time very well for the squad, and we're looking also to the next game to use it very well for the squad.
"We've got a good squad, a strong squad, and we've got motivation. They can see a game ahead, and they can see the team is not established yet."
Newcastle will take on West Ham United at Upton Park tonight.
