Montpellier have confirmed that they have rejected a bid from Newcastle United for midfielder Remy Cabella.
The Magpies are believed to have offered around £6.5m for the French international, but the Ligue 1 side value the 24-year-old at £12m.
Montpellier vice chairman Laurent Nicollin told reporters: "We have received two or three offers, including one for €8m that does not match our expectations. The president spoke of €15m."
However, The Northern Echo reports that the club is still optimistic of completing a deal for Cabella next week.
