Newcastle United have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Roma striker Seydou Doumbia.
The Ivorian spent the first half of the season on a six-month loan deal with his former club CSKA Moscow, but a permanent move never materialised.
However, the 28-year-old is known to want to sever his ties with the Stadio Olimpico, which alerted the Premier League Magpies, according to Di Marzio.
Having reached an agreement on a loan with an option to buy in the summer, it is believed that Newcastle will put Doumbia through a medical later today.
The frontman scored 11 goals from his 21 outings during his recent stint in Moscow.
