Newcastle United are reportedly close to signing Nice winger Allan Saint-Maximin.
Despite having just broken their club record to bring in Joelinton from Schalke, the Magpies are expected to remain active in the transfer market before the start of the new Premier League campaign.
Chronicle Live have claimed that Newcastle are pressing on with their efforts to bring Saint-Maximin to St James' Park, something which has now been acknowledged by Steve Bruce.
The club's new boss told reporters: "I don't think it's on the verge of happening but it's somebody we have looked at, it's somebody we have identified. We'll see what happens."
Nice are allegedly demanding in the region of £20m for the 22-year-old, who contributed six goals and three assists in 34 outings in Ligue 1 last season.
