Newcastle United are reportedly considering a summer swoop for Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.
Magpies manager Alan Pardew, who is due to serve a seven-game ban, is believed to be keen on strengthening his squad when the season comes to a close.
According to the Daily Mail, Stoke are keen to keep hold of Shawcross, who signed a new long-term deal 14 months ago, but Newcastle are planning to test the Potters' resolve with a bid.
Tottenham Hotspur were previously linked with the defender, while reports have claimed that Shawcross's former club Manchester United still have first option on the player.
