Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin in January, for a fee of just £6m.
The 26-year-old, who scored 18 goals in 35 Premier League games last season, was linked with a move to St James' Park throughout the summer but a transfer failed to materialise.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle will offer QPR £6m in January after baulking at the club's £15m asking price for the striker last month.
Austin, who has scored five goals in six Championship matches so far this season, has less than a year remaining on his current contract.
