Newcastle United are interested in signing Ajax centre-back Jan Vertonghen, according to De Telegraaf.
The reports claims that the Magpies have contacted the 24-year-old's agent to make him aware of their interest.
Vertonghen is said to be open to the possibility of a transfer, having joined the Dutch club as a youth player in 2003.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also believed to be keen on adding the Belgian international to their squads.
