Newcastle United have made an enquiry for Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana ahead of a potential move this summer, according to a report.
The Magpies have been on the look out for reinforcements across their forward line during the transfer window so far, having strengthened their defence with the arrivals of Nick Pope and Sven Botman, as well as the permanent signing of Matt Targett.
However, moves for the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Jack Harrison have failed to materialise so far, with the former having joined Paris Saint-Germain, and Leeds United standing firm over their valuation of the latter as things stand.
As a result, Howe has moved on to alternatives, with one such target being Sulemana according to the Daily Mail, who are reporting that Newcastle have enquired over his availability.
The report suggests that the winger is being valued at around £30m by the Ligue 1 club, who spent £17m to take him to France from Danish side Nordsjaelland last summer.
Having attracted interest from the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax in the past, the 20-year-old went on to score five goals and register two assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Rennes during the 2021-22 campaign.
Sulemana has also made 11 senior appearances for the Ghana national team to date, three of which came during the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations. body check tags ::
