Papiss Cisse has insisted that he wants to perform for Newcastle United next season, despite reports that the club are willing to sell the striker.
The Senegal international, who joined the Magpies from Freiburg in 2012, missed seven games of last season after being suspended for spitting at Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.
Reports have claimed that Newcastle are prepared to hand over Cisse's number nine shirt to potential new signing Charlie Austin, prompting speculation that the 30-year-old's days at St James' Park are numbered.
However, the player himself has not dropped any hints that he wants to leave the North-East outfit in the summer transfer window.
"I'm here, I'm Newcastle and I have one-and-a-half [years on my] contract," Cisse told Sky Sports News. "I am a Newcastle striker. I just think about my holiday and when I go back to Newcastle I will try to work hard and try to make the team."
Cisse scored 11 goals for Newcastle last season.
