Newcastle United officials have reportedly told manager Alan Pardew that he has money to spend in the January transfer window.
The Magpies failed to bring in a large number of new faces during the summer market, with Pardew admitting that signing a 'marquee' player would have pushed the club into their overdraft.
However, it is understood that the former West Ham United boss has been given assurances that funds will be available in the winter window, according to The Chronicle.
Despite their lacklustre transfer activity in the summer, the North-East outfit were able to hold on to midfielder Yohan Cabaye, who attracted interest from Arsenal.
