West Ham United and Fulham have emerged as rivals to Newcastle United for FC Twente defender Douglas.
The Magpies are believed to have tabled an offer for the 24-year-old, believed to be in the region of £4m.
However, Sky Sports News has reported that West Ham and Fulham have also submitted bids for the Brazilian-born centre-back.
Douglas , who will gain Dutch nationality next month, moved to the Eredivisie club in 2007 after being spotted playing in his homeland for Serie B side Joinville.
