Anderlecht defender Chancel Mbemba will reportedly have a medical at Newcastle United ahead of a move to the Premier League side.
It has been suggested that the Magpies have met a release clause in the Congo international's contract.
The 20-year-old would become Steve McClaren's third signing since becoming Newcastle head coach if the deal goes through.
The North-East outfit have already raided Anderlecht for one player this summer, having signed Aleksandar Mitrovic from the Belgian side on a five-year deal.
According to Sky Sports News, Mbemba has arrived on Tyneside for a medical with an £8m fee for the full-back having been agreed between the two clubs.
Newcastle have also signed Georginio Wijnaldum from PSV Eindhoven this summer.
