Newport County have dismissed reports that they are on the verge of signing former Wales international Robert Earnshaw.
The striker is available on a free transfer after being released by Blackpool at the end of last season, and there has been speculation that he has been considering an offer from the League Two side.
However, manager Justin Edinburgh told the South Wales Argus: "There's no truth in that story.
"I'm not sure we'd be able to attract someone of his stature, but there's nothing wrong with us being linked to players like that.
"It shows how far the club has come in recent years, but I've got plenty of striker here already."
Newport finished 14th in League Two last season, having won promotion from the Conference in the previous campaign.
