Today's League Two match between Aldershot Town and Southend United has been called off due to persistent floodlight failure.
A tannoy announcement at half time called for the club electrician after the lights had been flickering on and off during the opening 45 minutes.
However staff, players and fans alike were all left confused when a further tannoy announcement just minutes later stated that the game had been abandoned.
In another turn of events, players returned to the pitch, seemingly waiting for confirmation of the cancellation, which came minutes later from match officials.
Second-placed Southend, who are without a win in four games, led the match 1-0 at the time.
