AZ goalkeeper Esteban Alvarado has had the red card he received for kicking a fan rescinded by the Dutch Football Association (KNVB).
The Costa Rican was dismissed during his side's Dutch Cup match at Ajax on Wednesday for lashing out at the supporter who had run onto the pitch to attack him.
AZ manager Gertjan Verbeek then ordered his players off the pitch over the incident.
"The goalkeeper was unexpectedly attacked," said a KNVB spokeswoman. "He did not see his assailant arrive.
"The prosecutor believes that such a reaction should have no disciplinary action. Therefore, the player shall not be suspended."
It has not yet been confirmed whether the game will be replayed.
