Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch has revealed fears that the Championship club may not be able to afford to complete the season.
The former Premier League side recently slumped into administration for the second time in as many years, which subsequently led to a ten-point deduction.
"We are struggling to make the end of the season," Birch told BBC Solent.
The troubled club were forced to let go of 30 members of staff in order to begin solving Pompey's financial woes.
Birch, who was appointed administrator last week, revealed that he will meet with a players' representative in order to request that the team defer their wages until the end of the season.
