Cameroonian football player Leopold Angong Oben has died after collapsing on the pitch during Dynamo de Douala's second division match.
The 26-year-old was fouled in the box and won his side a penalty in their game against Colombe du Dja-et-Lobo at Reunification Stadium, but required treatment on the pitch.
Oben returned to the field but then collapsed in the 33rd minute. His teammates and medical personnel tried to revive him and he was then taken to hospital where he passed away.
Cameroon Professional Football League said in a statement: "[Oben] was evacuated to a Douala hospital where he passed away minutes after."
The cause of death has yet to be determined.
