Huddersfield manager Lee Clark has paid tribute to Gary Speed after the former Wales manager's death at the weekend.
The ex-Leeds, Newcastle and Bolton midfielder was found hanged in his home in the early hours of yesterday morning.
"I am still saddened and I am still shocked. He was a fantastic player. Times that by a thousand and you get the type of man he was," said Clark.
"He was one of the best footballers I played against - a man that did everything to the best of his ability and would do anything to be the best.
"It is hard to put into words what he was like as a person - you couldn't compare him. He was the best."
Clark made the comments after the Terriers' 2-0 defeat at the hands of Charlton tonight, a result which ended their 43-match unbeaten league run.
