Didier Drogba has arrived in China to a hero's reception as he begins life in Asia after leaving Chelsea.
The Ivorian ended his eight-year spell with Chelsea after his contract expired at the end of last season. Greeted by hundreds of fans at Shanghai's Pudang airport, he is excited about the challenge ahead.
Drogba said: "I am looking forward to a new challenge and to experiencing a new culture, and I am excited about the new developments in the Chinese Super League.
"I also want to help promote Chinese football around the world and further improve the links between China and Africa."
Drogba leaves Chelsea after scoring the winning spot kick in their penalty shootout win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
