Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra has labelled his side's season as a "disaster", while also claiming that the United players deserve all of the criticism they have received.
Last season's champions will miss out on Champions League football next campaign following a tumultuous season which has seen them lose seven Premier League games at Old Trafford.
"This year has been a disaster," said the Frenchman, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
"This year we have been really poor. We deserve all the criticism. We have not played well enough. We have lost some stupid games.
"When we are on the pitch we try to win every game but it's been so painful this season, it's been a nightmare. When I look at the table I just feel a big frustration. This year is a season I want to forget really quickly."
United's latest home defeat saw them lose 1-0 at the hands of Gus Poyet's resurgent Sunderland side.
