The Football League has announced that there will be a minute's silence before this weekend's matches in League One and League Two following last night's terror attacks in Paris.
At least 128 have died after attacks at various locations in the French capital, including close to the Stade de France where suicide bombers are said to have detonated while last night's international friendly between France and Germany was being played.
Most supporters were unaware of what was happening nearby as the match continued - France beat the world champions 2-0 - but then many remained in the stadium after the final whistle due to fears for their safety if they left.
In total, six separate locations were targeted and France has reacted by declaring a state of emergency and imposed border controls.
In a tweet with a plain black picture, the Football League said: "A minute's silence will precede all matches this weekend following the tragic events of the #ParisAttacks."
Sporting events in Paris have been cancelled this weekend and it is thought that Tuesday's friendly at Wembley between England and France will also be called off.
