The International Football Association Board are today expected to give the green light for goal-line technology to be implemented in games.
The IFAB are meeting in Zurich today to discuss both Hawk-Eye and GoalRef systems, with a decision due to be announced this afternoon.
The issue has been rumbling on over the years and even if the systems are approved, it will take time before they are used in regular matches across the Premier League.
Reports have claimed that the IFAB will insist that the technology will be used to help referees and that match officials can override the systems if they believe the ball didn't cross the line in any given incident.
