Ruud Gullit is reportedly in the running to become the new coach of Orlando Pirates.

Ruud Gullit is reportedly in the running to become the new coach of South African club Orlando Pirates.

The Mighty Buccaneers are seeking a new boss to take over from Julio Leal, who was fired by the club at the beginning of April.

Following recent discussions between the club's board, former Dutch international Gullit has emerged as a leading contender for the post, according to Kickoff.com.

Lothar Matthaus is also believed to be under consideration for the role.

Pirates will win the South African league if they win their two remaining fixtures.
