Paddy McCourt believes that he proved a point during Northern Ireland's 4-0 victory over the Faroe Islands last night.
The Celtic attacker scored two goals as the Greens kept their hopes of Euro 2012 qualification alive.
"It was my competitive start and I really enjoyed it," said the 27-year-old.
"You always have to prove a point. The whole team had to after the Faroes held us to a draw out there.
"To win the way we did was very pleasing."
Captain Aaron Hughes and midfielder Steven Davis added the other two goals for the Irish.
