Highly-rated Tunisian Youssef Msakni has revealed that he turned down the chance to join Arsenal in favour of a move to Qatari side Lekhwiya.
Msakni had previously been strongly linked with moves to the Gunners and Paris Saint-Germain, and the Tunisian has revealed that he turned down the Londoners before settling on Lekhwiya.
"I wanted to play in Qatar, the opportunity was given to me and I took it," he told Sky Sports News.
"I am looking forward to impressing in that league. Arsenal were also keen but not enough for me to choose them, maybe one day I will be in a very big league in Europe."
Msakni has signed a four-year deal with the Qatari side.
