Peter Reid has decided to leave his position as manager of financially-stricken Plymouth Argyle.
The League Two side, who have collected just one point from their opening nine fixtures, lost 2-0 at Southend United yesterday.
"Peter has had to put up with more in a short period of time than most managers have to put up with in a whole career," acting chairman Peter Ridsdale told the club's official website.
"Ultimately, whatever the challenges, football is a results business."
Former Sunderland boss Reid joined the Pilgrims in 2010.
