UEFA president Michel Platini has said that he is against seeing video replays introduced to help referees.
Italian Football Association president Carlo Tavecchio has appealed to FIFA asking for replays to be introduced in Serie A from next season, but Platini believes that it would damage the sport.
"Of all the evils, slow-motion replays in football would be a disaster. All this would stem the flow of the game, so it wouldn't be a good thing for its future," Platini told ANSA.
"Nonetheless, it's the International Board's decision - not Tavecchio's, nor mine. But I hope that no-one ever introduces it for the sake of football."
Tavecchio was recently banned for six months by UEFA for racist comments that he made in the summer.
