UEFA chief Michel Platini has joined Diego Maradona in criticising FIFA president Sepp Blatter ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Blatter is running for a fifth term in charge and is expected to win this weekend, but Maradona labelled him as "incompetent" in a newspaper column yesterday.
Platini told L'Equipe: "While he remains in place, whether he likes it or not, and whether it is fair or not, FIFA will lack credibility and its image will be tarnished, and so it will lack authority. Moreover, it will be football that suffers."
Blatter has been in charge since 1998.
